Hydration - An Introduction

This is the first of a series of articles on hydration.

From the CLT perspective, all of creation, including our physical body, are made of 5 elements of fire, earth, air, water and time space.  As about 70% of our body consist of fluids, we need to drink enough water to ensure that our body stay hydrated.
This is important as water is needed for many functions in our body.  Among other things, it is required for electrical flow throughout our body; carrying minerals, nutrients and electrons to all the cells and organs and also for moving toxins out from the body.
From the many profiling sessions with healees, we found that many of their physical problems stem from dehydration.  Many were surprised when they were informed that they were dehydrated because they thought that drinking beverages and juices was sufficient.
It is important to note that thirst is not a reliable indicator that our body needs hydration.  Our past healing experience indicates that when a body is dehydrated over an extended period of time, it does not send thirst signals out to the brain to resolve dehydration as one gets used to a dehydrated state.

 What is Dehydration?

Dehydration is a condition where the water in the body is below 2 per cent of its optimal water level.  When our body’s water content dropped by 10%, one would be in a hallucination state.  Death would ensue if the level dropped by 12%.

Signs of Dehydration
The common signs of dehydration are:
  1.     Yellow urine
  2.      Smelly urine
  3.      Water retention
  4.      Breathing difficulties
  5.      Constipation
  6.      Indigestion
  7.      Dizziness
  8.      Migraine
  9.      Skin problem - inability to heal
  10.      Acidic body
  11. .    Kidney stones

When a person shows one or more of these indicators, there is a possibility that he/she is dehydrated.

Danger of Prolonged Dehydration
Based on our CLT healing experience, dehydration appears most dangerous when the healee develops breathing difficulty. Prolonged dehydration will lead to the healee gasping for air. In this type of emergency situation, the healee must be slowly but continuously hydrated with water.
When hydration is stabilized, other measures can come in to arrest breathing difficulties. This will stop the healee from having respiratory complications.

Drink only water to rehydrate
To rehydrate the body, one needs to drink adequate amount of water (excluding beverages/juices/soups).  The average amount required is about 2.5-3 litres of water daily depending on how dehydrated and how active a person is.   The period to regain to a optimal state of hydration could range from 9-12 months.
